Road/Highway Design Engineer Full Time

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Road/Highway Design Engineer to join this dynamic and developing consultancy. They have a great team environment and they nurture and develop their employees, so they can continuously develop their skills.

This role would suit an ambitious and evolving Road/Highway Design Engineer who is open to bringing new ideas & technologies and who is always ahead of curve.

Responsibilities:

• Prepares design elements and design plans for highway/road design.
• Creates design calculations and back up documentation.
• Provides quantity calculations and project cost estimating.
• Coordinates project assignments with those of other engineers and technicians in the group.
• Assists with other duties assigned by Project Engineers and/or Project Managers.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 4-5 years relevant experience in a design environment.
• Experience designing roads with first-hand knowledge of DMRB and the NRA Manual of Contract Documents for Road Works.
• A recognised Bachelor of Engineering Degree (FETAC Level 8).
• Be progressing towards or reached Chartership.
• Be proficient in the use of Civil 3D, WinDes and AutoCAD (or similar)

Attributes & Skills:

• Knowledge of and experience using DMURS, National Cycle Manual and the Traffic Signs Manual.
• Chartered Engineer (preferable).
• Formal Health and Safety Training.
• Experience in Building Information Modelling (would be an advantage)
• Experience in Preliminary Design.
