Water Design Engineer Full Time

Water & Drainage Design Engineer required for an International operation in South Dublin, Ideally this position would suit a person who would enjoy working in a strategically expanding company, with great personal opportunities to develop and progress.  The successful candidate will work on water utility based projects in addition to providing water and drainage support on large multidiscipline projects. This role will provide a range of challenging, dynamic and high profile projects.

Responsibilities:

• Design and development of storm and foul drainage networks for municipal, industrial and commercial applications.
• Flood risk assessments
• The use of proprietary software models including, for example Microdrainage, StormCAD and Sewer Gems and INFOWorks.
• Drafting of designs drawings
• Report writing skills
• Site inspections
• Handing project – related correspondence
• Coordinating information concerning project costs and programme.
• You will be working on projects from start to finish.
• High level of client service and focus on providing a level of design and client attention that will exceed expectation.

Requirements:

• 2 -5  years of relevant experience.
• Degree Qualified in Civil Engineering & MSc would be a plus
• ­Strong attention to detail in relation to your design work.
• Demonstrable report writing and computer skills.
• Have a good analytical mind and background.

Candidates should have the following experience:

• Storm and foul gravity collection networks.
• Storm and foul rising pumping stations and rising mains.
• Water main distribution pipelines.
• Attenuation and flow control elements.
• Package wastewater treatment systems.
• Section 50 applications and Flood Risk Assessments.
• Site suitability assessments and drainage planning requirements.
• Strong analytical skills and background knowledge of hydraulics, hydrology, water/wastewater treatment and flood risk engineering.
• AutoCAD, Microstation, Revit or similar drafting and BIM packages.

Knowledge of the following software packages would be beneficial:

• Drainage design software such as WinDes (Microdrainage), InfoWorks or StormCAD/SewerGEMS.
• Channel and flood flow analysis software such as ISIS, Tuflow or Hec-Ras.
• Watermains analysis software such as Epanet 2 or Water GEMS.
