Senior Geotechnical Engineer Full Time

An exciting position has arisen for an experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer who has practical and design experience, you will assist in the already significant growth of company providing innovative geotechnical solutions across a broad range of civil engineering sectors predominately working within the Infrastructure, Renewable, Offshore and Marine, Structures and Research & Development.

The company has built an outstanding reputation for themselves meaning they are now market leaders in the field. Currently experiencing massive growth, for which they are looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to join the skilled workforce on their cradle to grave projects.

Responsibilities:

• You will be accountable for managing complex projects and subcontractors / sub-consultants.
• Directing and working in collaboration with other design disciplines and providing technical inputs to projects.
• Controlling commercial aspects of projects together with assisting and participating in developing team members to their full potential
• Supervising and developing the expertise of junior engineers
• Managing the production of analysis and design and ensuring compliance in the components of the project for which you have responsibility, including drawings, reports, specifications and studies
• Identifying opportunities and driving implementation of re-engineering strategies to maximise the profitability of design components
• Managing all commercial aspects (contract, invoicing, debt management, client management etc) relating to projects for which you have a responsibility to ensure a successful outcome.
• The successful candidate should have excellent, technical ability, communication skills, and the ability to lead, guide and supervise the staff.

Technical details of projects may involve:

• Scoping and Specifying site investigations
• Soil-Structure Interaction Analysis
• Geotechnical interpretation for onshore and offshore site investigations
• Geotechnical and Foundation design for civil, structural, infrastructure, offshore and renewable projects
• Preparation of contract documents and specifications
• Contract administration, construction supervision and site inspections
• Project management to ensure delivery within time, budget and quality constraints
• Quality Control and Health and Safety Management (PSDP)

Requirements:

• Min 5 years experience in Geotechnical analysis and design
• Chartered status with Engineers Ireland, or ICE
• Detailed Geotechnical Design Experience
• Experience of public works contracts
• A MSc degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering
• Experience and proficiency with technical report writing and presentations
• A full clean driver’s license.
